But here's my own write up since that's so small:
Mokuren was born under the name Shin Raki Sei Te Moku Ren to her parents Ro Jion (father) and Marj (mother) on the planet known as Seda. A world far away from the one known as Earth. She was born with a special birthmark on her forehead known as a "Kiche" which symbolizes her having special abilities from normal humans. The government pays families a lot of money for children like her, so at an early age she was stolen from her parents by her grandparents who changed her name to Ko Hass Sei Te Moku Ren.
She was then sent away to live in a place known as paradise with other girls (as the boys were in a separate area and were not allowed to mingle with each other). This place was sort of a training ground for those with the kiche mark, though it was extremely hard on her. Kiche were supposed to be completely pure so she was stripped of her clothing and made to live naked and mostly alone.
Her father did manage to sneak into paradise and take her back, but even that was a short lived happiness. They were constantly on the run and both her parents passed away not long after. Still, she managed to gain a little more time with them than before.
Mokuren ended up back in Paradise where she stayed and learned the ways of the Kiche Sarjalian, those who are blessed by the goddess Sarjalim. She learned many songs and eventually grew to be somewhat content in her life.
One day she saw a hologram of a newly discovered planet called KK-101. She found it beautiful and the same beautiful blue as her father's eyes. She instantly fell in love with the world and made it her dream to visit it one day.
In her 20s she was able to go to college and got a degree in biology (as well as learning about KK-101) and heard about a mission observing the very planet she had grown to love! Determined to go, she begged and demanded she be allowed on the crew. The Elder of the Kiche Sarjalian did a surprising act and granted her permission saying that it was her destiny to go there.
Mokuren joined a crew of other scientists and traveled to the moon of KK-101, which she learned was called "Earth" by the people who inhabited it. She enjoyed the world so much and loved to watch over it. She realized all of the scientists had names that were similar to the names of plants in Japanese. She renamed them all going from "Moku Ren" to simply "Mokuren."
Her time with the other scientists did not last with happiness though. They got word from their homeworlds that wars were increasingly getting worse and to wait for more information. However, nothing more ever came. It was then realized that the very area of space where her home planet once hung in the vastness of space was now empty! In fact, the entire planetary system was completely gone. Somehow her people had destroyed themselves in a war leaving seven people stranded on a foreign moon.
The structure of the crew began to break down with the news, and they all started fighting about what they should do next. Despair and tension was not the last of their problems though as one of them came down with a mysterious disease. And then another one. One by one they started dying from this illness. One of the scientists managed to create a cure, but it was really too late.
Mokuren was the second to last one to die and before she did she had a vision of herself being reborn on Earth. She died with the hope that they would all meet each other again.
Personality: Mokuren is a Kiche Sarjalian, who are said to be blessed by the goddess Sarjalim and possess the gifts of growth. They are extremely rare and highly regarded. Because of this, a lot of people instantly place Mokuren on an imaginary pedestal or completely despise her existence. The reactions of others towards her actually shapes a large portion of her personality.
Others see her as a beautiful, kind, and angel-like being who wants nothing more than the happiness of others. She is divine like a goddess and nothing could ever defile her.
In reality, she is not how others view her. She despises her “gifts” and the fact that people worship her. She does not want the responsibility of everyone always looking towards her for guidance. She feels that all they see is the mark on her forehead and no one views her as an actual person. Men almost instantly fall in love with her, and women seem to hate her. She has trouble making any real friends. So even as a small child she often refuted their own goddess and was known as a bit of a heretic. She sang for the plants, not for Sarjaliam! And while she sometimes prays, and seems to believe in her at times, she also puts more of her faith in people themselves than a higher power. (She believes miracles are created by acts of love -- such as love a mother has for a child).
Mokuren really wants to be seen as just a person, someone who has flaws and can make mistakes. At one point she even states that she farts like every other person. She's not as divine as they all believe. The worship she endured most of her childhood through adulthood caused her to become rather bitter with the world. She's still a nice person, she would not kill or harm anyone, but to some degree she's also rather selfish and disagreeable.
She prays to the goddess for there to be good looking men on the mission to Earth's moon. She wants to meet someone, fall in love, and lose her virginity all in order to lose her status as Kiche. (Kiche's lose their powers and abilities when they have sex. To her, this was a way out.) As a child she repeatedly sneaks out and does her best to go against everything she was being brought up to follow. In a way, she was a rebel against a spiritual faith and what it stands for. During her childhood, when asked to sing a song, she once sang a really vulgar song about sex in order to get a rise from other Kiche Sarjalians. However, this does not mean she doesn't have faith in religion herself.
She is also rather obsessed with Earth since she first saw images of it as a child – it was the color of her father's eyes, so she felt a connection to a planet extremely far away. She was in love with Earth and just wanted to embrace it. It was actually her main wish to somehow become part of the Earth's atmosphere so she could nurture it always.
Despite all her insecurities she does try to play the nice Kiche Sarjalim part at times (which does not help how people view her). She'll be polite and well-spoken. It's difficult to really get a rise out of her or make her angry (in public). She holds a lot of it in because of all the expectations thrown on top of her. She doesn't want to be viewed that way, but she feels trapped like she has an obligation to do so. This is why she wanted to lose her powers and stop being a kiche -- so she would be free.
However, there is a part of her that does not wish to lose her powers. She loves being able to speak with plants, as they are really her only friends. She needs her powers and could not bear to lose them, which is why despite what all happens to her she never does. She is the only known Kiche to ever accomplish this.
She yearns for friendship but doesn't know exactly how to obtain it. Most of her socialization growing up was with other Kiche and her assistant, Mode. Sometimes she forgets the aspects of everyday society, such as people normally wear clothes. She feels awkward around others in her attempts to fit in, not really knowing how to blend into society, mostly because she can't.
Ironically enough she appreciates those who don't look up to her (as they are very few). One, for example, was Shion who sometimes forgot she was a Kiche Sarjalin and thought people were staring at him when they were actually looking at her.
All in all, she does wish the best for others. She means no harm even if she sometimes only thinks of herself. She just wants to be happy and everyone else to be the same. She wants to be loved for who she is and not what she stands for.
Abilities:
► Plant Empathy - Mokuren has the ability to "speak" to plants in the sense that she can feel their emotions and what they maybe thinking. Sometimes she appears to talk with them in a literal sense, but it's actually her powers and mind that sort of translate the feelings she receives from the plants into thoughts and sentences that she can understand. She can get plants to respond positively to her by speaking to them nicely.
► Magic through song - Related to her plant empathy, Mokuren has what others consider a beautiful singing voice, which is enhanced by her powers. Plants love her songs as well and will grow wildly overnight if she sings to them. Typically the songs she sings are ones she was taught by her people. There is also a Black Hymn she is forbidden to sing that causes all plant life to wither up into a dormant state and no longer grow. Basically she can make plants thrive or shrivel up by just singing to them. I imagine in game she won't be able to completely overtake a building by accidentally singing next to it.
► Limited human empathy - As kiches growl older and stronger they have the ability to speak to others telepathically and possibly sense their moods. Mokuren's abilities in that category are limited to where she can only feel emotions if they are sent from someone else with telepathic abilities, but she can speak to others that way and feel that something 'telepathic' is going on. She can also help people re-live memories, it's said to be like watching a movie in their minds. If she does this she can also see the memory. She cannot influence, alter, or do anything else to people's minds.
► Limited animal empathy - Since her powers are more on the side of plants, like with humans, she can't hear what animals are thinking. She can, to some degree, feel if they're upset or happy. Animals on the other hand seem to know something is up with her and will come gather around, or just stare. Kinda like being a disney princess only without breaking out into song.
► Air purifier - And last but not least, the air is said to become clearer if she enters the room. Sort of like a living humidifier, although it's minimal to a point where very few people tend to even notice. They might just notice that the air is fresher somehow.
